About Blindspot Report

Hear a wide range of views — so we can better understand each other.

Who we are

Citizens who want to hear a wide range of views so we can better understand each other — disagreement is fine, and constructive dialogue is encouraged, but ignorance is not.

Why we built it

Podcasts are an incredible way to hear long-form perspectives directly from the source. But with so many podcasts these days, and episode durations between 20 minutes and 3 hours, it is practically impossible for anyone to hear them all firsthand.

How it works

01
Transcribes the latest episode word for word, with no judgment applied.
02
Uses AI to analyze the overall political stance of the discussion, and identify the quotes that best capture the main points. This process is virtually entirely automated, to minimize the potential for human bias.
03
Presents the quotes as text and audio excerpts.
(Pleasant) surprises

We don't assume that because a podcast host might have a certain political stance that any particular episode will also share that stance, so we assess each episode individually.

For example, even though Ezra Klein is a self-described “progressive,” the AI assessed a recent episode of The Ezra Klein Show as “Right-leaning” — because the focus of the discussion was to hear his guest's right-leaning views.

How to get the most from it
